Nancy Sinton, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, MBA
Nancy Sinton an internationally trained and certified yoga therapist, yoga educator and yoga teacher who has been involved in yoga and mindfulness for over 20 years. I have taught at a range of locations from the prestigious Kiripalu Center for Yoga & Health to leading yoga studios, wellness centers and the Integrative Medicine Department at Orlando Health. I work closely with doctors and mental health professionals, educating people on the benefits of yoga therapy, as well as working closely with patients and clients referred by health professionals. My yoga therapy specialty is working with people who are going through major life changes. That might be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual change. Every stage of life has its challenges. Some people ride these waves with ease and others take detours which include stress, anxiety and depression.
Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga including gentle movement, breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation techniques. Yoga therapy is offered in private one-to-one sessions or small groups.
A one-to-one yoga therapy session can be just one session, a series of sessions or on-going sessions depending on the needs of the client. The first session includes an assessment as well as recommended beginning practices. A client will complete a Client Information Form and submit this to the therapist prior to the session or bring it with them to the session. The client and therapist discuss the information on the form and develop and implement a plan of action based on the client’s goals and needs. If you have a health issue and would like to try a customized yoga treatment plan, sign up for a private yoga therapy session. Everyone can practice yoga – if you can breathe, you can do yoga!
Lakewood Ranch became my new home in June 2018 after spending 13 years in Orlando (previously from Boston) and I am thrilled to offer my yoga therapy services at Four Pillars Wellness Center, a beautiful and welcoming community of holistic practitioners. Caryn Patterson, Yoga Director
Caryn has loved working out her entire life – primarily with tennis, running, yoga, and weights.
Caryn is a graduate of Florida State University. She worked as an IT Consultant and a manager in the corporate world, but always had a passion for fitness. She started out earning an aerobics certification and then a personal training certification.
Eighteen years ago, she discovered yoga and decided to add a yoga teaching certification at Heartwood Yoga and Retreat Center.
After having many years of lower back issues, yoga was exactly what she needed to strengthen her lower back. Yoga stretches and strengthens your mind, body and soul!
Caryn also loves healthy eating! She’s not a perfect eater, but definitely feels and looks better when eating fruits, vegetables, lean meats and fish. She and her children work in the garden together, which consists of Earth Boxes and Tower Gardens. She also takes and sells Juice Plus, which is whole food nutrition in a capsule or chewable, to ensure that she gets her daily dose of fruits and veggies.
Caryn is truly dedicated to helping people become strong and healthy. She has a strong background in business and marketing as well as many great ideas for classes and workshops to build a thriving, learning, yoga community and to inspire students to be all they can be as the director of Four Pillars Yoga.
She is here to encourage you in your walk to become a healthy person inside and out, so she cannot wait to see you in one of her classes.
Caryn offers private yoga classes:
Mondays, 11:00 – 1:00 pm
Thursdays, 12:00 – 3:00 pm
Fridays, 12:00 – 2:30 pm
Christine is a graduate of Heartwood Yoga and Retreat Center in Bradenton, where she complete her 500 hour yoga
certification. In 2016, Christine completed her 200 hour teacher training at Lotus Garden School of Yoga in New Milford, CT.
Christine found a home when she and her infant daughter attended a Mommy and Me Yoga class, over 30 years ago. Decades later, as an instructor, Christine brings an understanding of yogic lifestyle to her students and encourages them to incorporate the physical practice with philosophy, and meditation in order to experience all that yoga offers.
Her motto is, “Allow life to surprise you.” She teaches yoga as an opportunity to do just that, show up, practice and be surprised by what you and your body can do. You are never too old or too stiff to begin. It is always surprising to discover how these ancient exercises breathe new life and create new beginnings for anyone willing to try.
In addition to teaching and practicing yoga, Christine enjoys time spent with her husband, three daughters, walking her dog, boating and hanging out at the beach. She loves life in southwest Florida and cannot imagine living anywhere else.
Certified to teach Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, Senior Yoga, and Trauma Sensitive classes, Christine has a special interest in teaching beginners and seniors. She is also generously leading a FREE Oncology Yoga class week that combines breath work with yoga postures that are carefully chosen to support the physical and emotional needs of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
Christine teaches private yoga sessions:
Tuesdays, 12:00 to 4:00pm
Wednesdays, 11:00 to 3:00pm
Thursdays, 12:00 to 4:00pm
